“What Kind Of Ancestors Will We Become?” is an exploration of our relationship to broken histories. Taking the well-known Michael Meyers mask of the infamous Halloween franchise as the focal point, the video leads the viewers through a house of mirrors. The original mask came from a cast of Captain Kirk of Star Trek, aka William Shatner. Through time, the meaning of the mask diverged from its original signifiers. Instead, the Halloween franchise repurposes it as a humorless face of horror. It can be difficult to think about our own image as a reflection of the past, present, and future all intertwined with one another.
